About
The therapist your horse would pick.
Erin Grace, RVT, CEMT
Medical training. Horsewoman’s hands.
Horses can’t tell you where it hurts. I built my career around learning to hear it anyway.
I trained first as a Registered Veterinary Technician. It’s the medical foundation most bodyworkers never get. Anatomy, physiology, pathology: the knowledge that turns “that spot feels tight” into an understanding of why, and whether it’s something massage can fix or something your veterinarian needs to see.
Then I certified as an Equine Massage Therapist and took that knowledge barn-side. Today I run Grace Equine Therapy from my farm in Smiths Falls, travelling the Ottawa to Kingston corridor treating everything from beloved backyard companions to FEI competitors, and I’m one of the few therapists in the region permitted to treat horses at FEI-sanctioned events.
Owners tell me they notice the same things every time: I take my time, I explain what I’m finding while I work, and I never leave without showing you the exercises that keep the progress going. That’s not a sales technique. It’s just how I think horses deserve to be treated.

Every one of my 19 Facebook reviews recommends me. Ask around any barn between Ottawa and Kingston.
How I work
The horse sets the pace
No stopwatch sessions. I work each area until the horse releases. Reviews mention it constantly, because in this industry it’s rare.
You’re part of the session
I narrate as I go: what I’m feeling, why it matters, what it means for your riding. You leave knowing your horse better.
Homework, always
Every visit ends with simple exercises specific to your horse, so the money you spend keeps working after I drive away.
Barn Life
Follow the day-to-day (Franklin included)
My Facebook and Instagram are where Eastern Ontario horse people actually hang out: bodywork tips, rehab wins, and regular appearances from Franklin, my mini-pony assistant with strong opinions about work schedules. It’s the best preview of what it’s like to have me in your barn.
